Juni 2009 Jazz Benefactor Hamburg Ernst A. Langner is a jazz benefactor but also wants politics to support his investments Die Welt. His foundation, the Dr. E.A. Langner Stiftung in Hamburg, Germany, sponsors a regular jazz award as well as a jazz scholarship and endows the jazz department of the Hamburg Musikhochschule by sponsoring its vocal class. While presenting three young musicians with a scholarship, Langner demanded politics to follow his engagement and enable the jazz department to open its classes to up to 70 students instead of just 30. He also asked for a fulltime professorship and promised he would support any developments to make the Hamburg Musikhochschule an international school for jazz if the necessary infrastructure would be provided by the school.
