Iâm readying to escape the East Coast for a sun-filled trip to the lemon groves of California. I actually wonât be terribly far from the Bay Area, a locale where natural products are the norm, not the exception.Nona Daron owner of Flying Beauticians salon in San Francisco developed a set of beauty treatments for her summer Spaah Camp for teenagers, but they apply to anyone who wants to look beautiful on a budget. We now find ourselves having to clean our faces with the very food that at home, we have hastily wiped from our chins. We use raw plant extracts to slough off dead skin cells, fight acne, and replenish moisture. Most of these treatments look and smell more suitable for the dinner table than the body. They are literally good enough to eat! A large fruit and vegetable platter displays most of the body scrubs and facial ingredients. Bowls of kitchen cosmetics bear testimony to old-style beauty routines.1/ Honey-Cucumber Facial honey, fresh lime juice, sliced cucumbers massage with honey and lime, lime exfoliates and honey softens the skin, the cucumber mask tightens the skin and replenishes moisture2/ Hydrating Honey cleanse mix honey and olive oil and rub into skin3/ Avocado mask mash the avocado and use the pit to massage into skin, naturally rich in vitamin E which softens the skin4 / Egg White Mask separate the whites from the yolks, beat the white, apply to skin and let harden â draws toxins from skinâs surface and tightens the pores as it cleans5/ Lemon toner a refresher after any of the steps above â lemon juice and cold water â tightens pores and smells good too6/ Lavender oil massage face with a mixture or lavender essential oil and cold pressed vegetable oil or sesame oil There are all sorts of things in the kitchen cabinets and fridge that can be used for a cleansing and refreshing facial. This can be done easily at home as a way of using up what you did not get around to eating. Sort of like composting. And donât forget that itâs only with these sorts of fridge facials that you know exactly what you are putting on your skin.Tags: at-home beauty, natural ingredients, raw productsShare This
