Chief Livy Uzochukwu, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is the former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice of Imo State. In this interview, he disagreed with recent call by President Umaru Yar'Adua that the immunity clause should be removed. He argued that occupiers of the office of the President or Governors will face undue distractions, if the immunity clause is removed from the constitution, adding that since time does not run out on the state in the prosecution of criminal offence, any occupier of the office of the President or Governor who commits an offence while in office can be arrested and prosecuted when he leaves office.
