MASTERWORKS # 4 JANUARY 10th 2009, HAMILTON PLACE 7:30pm âKUERTISSIMOâ The Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and Artistic Director James Sommerville welcome Pianist Anton Kuerti and Guest Conductor Julian Kuerti to our fourth Masterworks performance of the season. Pianist Anton Kuerti is respected and admired by audiences across Canada and around the world. Now Julian Kuerti, assistant conductor of the Boston Symphony, leads father Anton in Mendelssohnâs Piano Concerto No.1 in G minor, Op. 25 and Capriccio brilliante for piano and orchestra in B minor to begin our celebration of that composerâs bicentennial year. In Julianâs premier appearance with the HPO he also leads Bartokâs fiery Hungarian Sketches and Beethovenâs electric Symphony No. 8.
