Anand has glimpse of "Clive Chess set" in ivory

Chennai, Dec 17 UNI World chess champion Vishwanathan Anand today visited the Murugappa Group to have a glimpse of ''Clive Chess set'', an ivory chess set whose origin could be traced back to the 18th century, the period of East India Company. The ivory set of Chessmen is believed to have been carved at Khagra near Murshidabad in West Bengal between 1750 and 1790. It is thought to be a copy of a set made for Clive.
