Agence France-Presse The 2008 Taichung Jazz Festival is scheduled to open in the central city next Saturday, with 20 to 30 well-known saxophonists and saxophone ensembles from home and abroad performing, an official said Tuesday. The nine-day festival, which is held annually, is in its sixth year. At the opening of the festival sponsored by the city's Cultural Affairs Bureau, 1,000 musicians are expected to team up to perform popular songs on saxophone at the bustling City Square in the city's West District, said Mark K. Huang, the bureau's director-general.
