They treat minorities as vote banks and don't have real concern or commitment for their development and welfare,” BJP senior leader L.K. Advani said. He was addressing a rally at Washim in Maharashtra.Advani said, “The government's refusal to honour Supreme Court verdict to hang Mohammad Afzal Guru convicted of December 2003 parliament attack, unwillingness to check Bangladeshi migrants and incompetence to fight terrorism", were a proof of the its vote bank politics.“The UPA government has consciously and persistently followed the policy of dividing the Indian people between majority and minority. I would like this categorisation of Indians to disappear soon,” Advani added.He said terrorism was a “new form of war against India” and pointed out that “only a strong government guided by a clear perspective and possessing the necessary political will can fight the menace”.Advani was talking about the growing incidences of terrorist attacks in the country that have claimed hundreds of lives in the past few months.The BJP alleges that the government was trying to protect suspected terrorists and that is the main reason why the Congress-led UPA government is not keen on reviving a strict law like POTA.--Indo-Asian News Servicepa/sk/vt258 Words*01102051
