Had Christopher Alford allowed her to finish the trip on her own without being eased up she could have bettered the course record of 1:11.6, set by Bisquit way back in 1991. "She is a game filly. Though I was a bit worried as she was giving weight to others, the moment I closed the gap with the front runners I was quiet confident of winning the race," said Christopher.Sugar Ray set a scorching pace to stablemate Kiara — who was settled nicely in a handy fifth by Alford — till the head turned for home. Entering the home stretch, Mark Of Gibraltar was taken to the front in hurry with Icebreaker trying to bridge the gap and Kiara making steady progress through the centre of the track. Once alerted to the task midway up the stretch, Kiara responded instantly and the winner was sighted long way from home as she swiftly grabbed the initiative 200 metres to go to score by little over three lengths. Own Voice came on well to grab the runner-up place from Icebreaker followed by the tiring Mark Of Gibraltar.It seemed that inspired by the performance of Kiara her half brother, Easy, Razeen-Blue ridge rocketed to the front from a wide out side draw and held on to the lead to win the V.G. Saravanam Memorial Cup, a 1400 metres race for horses rated 40 to 65. Jedi Knight came with a flourish to beat Chilli Wind, who was struggling to find foot in straight, for the second spot.It was an hard ridden victory for Dr. M.A.M’s Musical Paradise in the opener. After racing neck and neck with Integer right from the start of the 1200 metres race Srinath’s relentless whipping saw Musical Paradise getting stronger at the finish to spare a length to Integer. On The Dot came from way behind to pip Different Opinion for third slot.Fox Haven gave Dr. MAM his second win for the day in the Endorsment Plate. B. John to deprive Double Elite a win by a nose in the Basque Plate. Royal Alchemist ran the best of the rest while finishing a close fourth behind Agassiz despite running after along lay off. Jockey Shobhan Babu was suspended for four race days for not keeping a straight course on Double Elite.Christopher Alord timed his move perfectly on Alenia to win the last race in a three-way photo finish, involving Andronicus, who adopted wire to wire tactics, and the late finishing Sugar Blaze.
